Having just arrived here in Germany, I was so excited to see a real-life castle! This was my first venture out into Germany so we decided to take a day trip over to Heidelberg, which wasn’t too far from home. It did not disappoint and made an excellent first trip in Germany.

After visiting the castle, we took all the stairs down to the main shopping street. I have never in my life seen so many people, packed from left to right, on one street! 

We ordered a cappuccino and a hot chocolate and laughed so hard at the tiny cup for the cappuccino! That’s something that is different from what we are used to back home. 

We also stopped by a shop and got another hot chocolate. This one has delicious chocolate on a spoon and a little tube of real Irish cream alcohol on it. It was so, so good!

Then we stopped by and had a real German lunch (late!). It was such a great day and I am so happy to be here!
