Naturwildpark Freisen (which translates near exactly how it sounds, natural wildlife park in Freisen) was one of those trips where it was a beautiful summer day, and we just wanted to get outside and enjoy the weather. One of my friends had mentioned that she took her son, who is about the same age as my daughter, and he absolutely loved it. After checking our their Facebook page, I found they were only about 30 minutes away from our house, so we packed some snacks and headed out.
When we arrived, we walked up to a window at the entrance and paid for admission, which was €16 for 2 adults, and since my daughter is under 3 she was free. We also got a bag of animal food for a couple euro. Then we made our way inside.
We were instantly greeted by goats of all sizes, some of which were in their enclosure and some who had escaped and were wandering around freely. My daughter’s favorites were the baby goats since they were the perfect size for her to feed and pet.
Then we walked down the hill and entered a gated area. From there we took a left and began our walk through the large park. We had so much fun, I realized afterward that I had hardly taken any photos! So I’ll keep the rest pretty short. We encountered a monkey enclosure, deer, a pen with raccoons (they have separate food you can purchase out of a little machine to toss into them), and piglets running around with their mom. There was also a section that had birds of all kinds (owls, hawks, eagles, etc.). There were many more animals in the large park, I can barely remember them all!

It was fun and I would recommend a trip there, especially if you have children. It was an affordable way to spend an afternoon.
